(name). The key moment that I remember was when I received my final exam results; I was delighted to have passed with better scores than I expected. I graduated from university in …… (year). As far as I recall, we received our final exam results in May and the graduation ceremony was in July. Our exam scores for individual course modules were posted on the noticeboard in the corridor of the university department, and I remember getting into the lift in the department one morning, knowing that I would soon see my results. The particular moment when I really felt overjoyed and proud of what I had achieved was when I saw my exam results on the department noticeboard. This was the precise point in time when I realised that I had passed and that my hard work had paid off. I was proud because I had overcome some setbacks earlier in the course, and I had proved to myself that I could achieve my goals. As I approached the department noticeboard I felt really nervous but also excited; I knew that the moment of truth was just seconds away. And when I saw my final exam results I was surprised, thrilled and relieved all at the same time. I didn’t shout out with joy, but I think I probably clenched my fist and said “yes” to myself. I certainly remember walking back down the corridor with a spring in my step, feeling elated and knowing that four years of study were finally over. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------— 📌Describe something you did in your life that was a success. You should say – what you did – when you did it – what difficulties you faced – and how you felt when you were successful It’s useful to have an idea of a success in your head, otherwise you will have to rack your brain for ideas when you see the cue card. If you can’t think of anything, make something up! But make it believable! Think about your education. Think about sports, hobbies, music. Think about your childhood. At some point in your life, you have made some sort of achievement and you should be proud of it. Once you have thought of something, start making notes on the points above. How can you give a vivid description of what you did? How can you explain when you did it, and what the difficulties were? How can you describe your feelings? 📗SAMPLE ANSWER Two years ago, I felt quite unfit and so I decided to make some changes to my lifestyle. I set myself a big goal, which was to run a marathon. At the time, it seemed like an impossible goal, but I knew that I could do it if I set my mind to it . Back then, I could only run about one kilometer without stopping, but I set out to improve that, little by little. One day I would run a kilometer, and then next I would run a kilometer and a half. I measured my progress with an app on my phone, which helped me to track my progress . Beginning in March, 2015, I continued running longer and longer distances until I completed my first half marathon in August. I felt really proud of myself, and was convinced that I could complete the full marathon. However, I got sick and lost a lot of fitness during September. By the beginning of October, I was only a few weeks away from the full marathon and I had still never run more than half the distance! Still, I didn’t panic. My goal was not to run a marathon in a good time, but just to finish. I knew that I could do 42 kilometers, even if it took me all day! In end, I completed my marathon. It hurt more than I imagined , but I also felt prouder than I ever had before.
